How to Build a Nutritional Smoothie

Greens and Vegetables: Carrots, cauliflower, collard greens, kale, romaine lettuce, spinach, Swiss chard, and zucchini.

Fruit: Apples, avocado, banana, berries, cherries, mango, orange, peach, pears, pineapple, and plum.

  • Tip: Using frozen fruit and/or vegetable will make a more favorable, cooler smoothie.

 

Nuts: Almonds, cashews, peanuts, pecans, and walnuts.

 

Liquid: Almond milk, cashews milk, coconut milk, hemp seed milk, oat milk, soy milk, tea, coffee, or chilled water.

  • Tip: ice is optional – using only up to 25% of your total smoothie ingredients.

Boosts:

  • Herbs and spices: cinnamon, fresh mint, cilantro,  ground/fresh ginger, and ground/fresh turmeric root.

  • High-quality protein powder.

  • Nut and seed butters: almond, cashew, or sunflower.

  • Herbal Perfect SuperFood. 

  • Superfood powders: cacao, maca, chlorella, or spirulina.

Frozen Fruit Smoothie 1 Serving

 Ingredients
 

  • 6 oz. – 8 oz. frozen fruit per smoothie (12 to 16 oz. bag of frozen fruit)

  • 6oz. – 8 oz. almond or coconut milk


Directions
 

  • Fill blender with frozen fruit (never go beyond the fill line)

  • Add almond/coconut milk

  •  *Add 2 tablespoons Herbal Perfect SuperFood

  • Blend well and serve

Breakfast Smoothie

  • 1 cup fresh/ frozen spinach or other leafy greens

  • ½ frozen banana

  • 1 ½ cups unsweetened almond milk or other milk alternatives, or regular milk

  • ¼ cup steel cup oats or gluten-free oats

  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter or other nut butters

  • 1 tablespoon local honey

Creamy Coffee Smoothie

Ingredient

  • 1 banana

  • ½ cup cold freshly brewed coffee (never use hot coffee)

  • ½ cup unsweetened almond milk or other alternative milk

  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt

  • ¼ t. cinnamon

  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup

  • 1tablespoon Herbal Perfect SuperFood (optional)

 

Directions

 

  • Add ingredients in order as listed and blend until smooth

Melon Shooters for Brunch – juice each melon separately

Ingredients

  • 1 Watermelon wedge (rind removed)

  • 1 Honey Dew wedge (rind removed)

  • 1 Cantaloupe wedge (rind removed)
     

Directions

  • Juice separately and pour into 4-ounce shooter/juice glasses

  • Garnish with cube melon on the side

When juicing fresh fruits make sure they are ripe but not overripe.  

  • Remove orange or grapefruit peel but leave the pith (the white layer between the peel and fruit). You will still receive all the vitamins in the fruit.

  • You can leave lemon or lime peel on for more flavor to your juice.

  • Drinking fruit juice 1 hour before breakfast will help curb your appetite.

  • You can add a banana or avocado to make a smoothie.

  • Add Almond milk or coconut milk to make smoothie

  • You can use a package of frozen fruits on offseason

Fruit Juicing Recipes

The juicing recipes depend on the size of the glass, the ripeness of fruits, and your personal taste.

Morning Tonic Juice

Ingredients

  • 1 grapefruit with rind remove and section into segments

  • 2 carrots – wash, do not scrape and cut into pieces

  • ½ inch piece of fresh ginger and cut into slices

  • 5 pitted prunes

Directions

Place prunes into ¼ cup hot water and soak for 30 minutes. Place grapefruit sections into juices and add carrots and fresh sliced ginger. Remove prunes from water and place them into the blender and add Morning Tonic juice.

*Blend well with 2 tablespoons Herbal Perfect SuperFood. Serve – drink 1 hour before breakfast.

Sunrise Juice

Ingredients

  • 2 small Green Apples – wash, cored, and quarter

  • 1 small ripe pear –wash, cored, and quarter

  • 6 pitted prunes 

Directions

Place 6 prunes in ¼ cup hot water and soak for 30 minutes. Juice the quartered pear first. Add quartered green apples to the juicer.

 Remove prunes, from the water, and pour Sunrise juice into a blender.  

  • *Add 2 tablespoons Herbal Perfect SuperFood and blend well.

  •  Serve, garnish with sliced apple or pear.                                                     

Berrytini Juice

Ingredients

  • 1 Watermelon wedge – rind on optional

  • Bunch of seedless red or green grapes

  • 1 orange – remove peel and section orange segments

  • 1 cup raspberries

  • 1 cup blueberries

Directions

Juice raspberries and blueberries together, add watermelon wedge, orange sections, and grapes. Pour Berrytini juice into a shaker or blender  

  • *Add 2 tablespoons of Herbal Perfect SuperFood blend well.   

  •  Garnish with grapes, small watermelon or orange segment, and serve

Ingredients

  • ¼ of a small cabbage

  • 2 carrots – wash, do not scrape, and cut into pieces

  • 1-inch piece of fresh ginger – sliced

  • Cut cabbage into pieces and add to the juicer. Cut carrots ginger slices to the juicer. Pour Cleansing juice into a shaker or blender.

Peppery Vegetable Punch

Ingredients

  • 2 stalks celery

  • 4 radishes

  • 2 tomatoes½ jalapeno pepper (optional)

Directions

Ingredients

 

  • 1 small tomato

  • 1 carrot, wash and cut into pieces

  • 1 small red pepper, chopped into chunks

  • 2 stalks celery, diced

  • Juice tomato; add red pepper and celery and juice; then add sweet potato and carrot.

  • 1 carrot, wash and cut into pieces
